BEFORE

• All drafts/manuscripts/finished works are welcome but VR prefers fiction.

• The reviewer (Vier Reviews/VR) and the author-client will have a written agreement via email, which will also serve as a contract. If there are revisions or additions to the ongoing agreement, these will have to be in a written format as well.

• VR operates on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of the price and the book length.

DURING

• We charge for our time and hard work; our asking fees do not guarantee positive reviews. We remain impartial and credible. Our reviews are rich with meaning; we are open-minded and brave. We give a list of typos (non-comprehensive) to further help the author-client. If you want a comprehensive typo list, we’ll charge more. Our fees start at $15, and you can learn more about this on the Price tab.
  
  
• The output will be ready in ten (10) to fourteen (14) calendar days, depending on the book length, excluding international holidays. The author-client has to wait until VR confirms the slot and the schedule before paying, especially if there’s a long queue. VR does not encourage payments prior to schedule confirmation to avoid problems. Once the author-client has sent proof of payment, that counts as Day 1.

• Fees are non-refundable unless VR has failed to deliver within the said timeline without prior advise. VR will always let the author-client know about emergencies (e.g., sickness, power outage) ASAP.

• Please send us both a pdf and a .docx version. The latter is so we could double-check the word count.

• Please include the blurb or a short synopsis of your book or manuscript, as well as any trigger warnings, if none is indicated in the foreword.

• Please make sure that your book or manuscript has been properly edited at least once (by another pair of eyes, not yours). Countless typo errors (punctuation, grammar, spelling, sentence construction, etc.) slow down my reading and divert our focus. If typo errors are prevalent in the first 25% of the book, VR will terminate the contract and will refund half of what the author-client has paid. Simple differences in spelling (i.e., for American vs. British English) are not considered errors.

• When VR has already started reading, re-sending of files a few hours or days later is strictly not allowed. If the author-client really has to send a new file with major changes after VR has started, the timeline of ten (10) to fourteen (14) days will adjust, and the author-client has to pay an additional 25% of the original price. VR will send an email when we’re about to start reading and will reiterate this guideline in the email as a gentle reminder.

• The book review will have a minimum of three hundred (300) words, excluding the summary. For beta-reading, the minimum is three (3) pages.

AFTER

• The book review remains the property of VR after it is submitted to the author-client. It will be posted in all of VR’s socials with the necessary book details. The author-client is free to use the full review, or just a part of it, granted that they will give credits to VR accordingly.
  

• For unpublished works, manuscripts, and beta copies, VR agrees that the beta-reading output will only be submitted to the author-client and will not be posted for public viewing.
  
  
• The file copy sent to VR for reviewing or beta-reading services will not be distributed outside VR and will be deleted from our database two (2) weeks after the submission date.
